Greenhill McCarron switches to S2

Switch Card Services, the debit card company best known for the Switch brand, is relaunching as S2 Card Services, to reflect a broader product range that includes the Maestro and Solo brands.

The design of the umbrella brand has been masterminded by Greenhill McCarron, the fledgling design and branding consultancy set up by former Basten Greenhill Andrews directors Tim Greenhill and John McCarron, following their departure from Citigate Lloyd Northover last year. The pair joined CLN following the closure of BGA (DW 25 September 2002).

‘Switch Card Services was an appropriate name when we were a single brand company,’ says S2 Card Services marketing director Nigel Turner. ‘With a product range that now includes Switch, Solo and Maestro, we need to have a less definitive name.’

The naming for S2 was undertaken in-house, and Greenhill McCarron won the work on the strength of a previous client relationship. The marque launches this week.
