TV 2 news update by Lambie-Nairn

Lambie-Nairn has completed a rebrand for Norwegian commercial TV channel TV 2’s news programming. The initiative encompasses the brand’s strategic positioning, studio design and screen idents.

Having defined the brand values and brand personality for TV 2 News, the design group created a framework for the consistent portrayal of the station’s news content, and the various related sub-brands around the news.

Revitalised idents designed to reflect ‘integrity’ and ‘creativity’ were created for TV 2’s news programming, sports coverage, weather and features scheduling.

Lambie-Nairn chairman Martin Lambie-Nairn says, ‘There were a number of challenges, including the need to identify the relationship between the TV 2 channel brand and the TV 2 news brand. The new, consistent identity for the news is expected to bring value back to the TV 2 channel brand by enhancing the overall perception of the channel through news.’

TV 2’s studios in Bergen and Oslo have also been redesigned by the group, to create what Lambie-Nairn describes as ‘a modern, clean look, designed to allow the presenters to dominate the screen’.

TV 2 head of news Kjell Øvre Hellend says the work gives TV 2 a ‘design marked by quality, experience and creativity’.
