Wavy lines can have a role to play in images

I write in response to Tony Huggett’s letter (DW 25 November) criticising wavy lines. While I agree they should not be used merely for decoration, they often perform a practical function. With regard to Quintet Publishing, the wavy line is integral. If you remove this you are left with an O.
