Could the present spate of redesigning ‘classics’ spread to graphic design?

The current trend of redesigning classics such as the VW Beetle, the Mini and the London Taxi cab has yielded some interesting results, and I wonder what classics will be up next for a redesign.

There are classic designs that, I suspect, won’t be touched by even the bravest designer – the Robin Reliant and the Mini Clubman.

Will this trend spread to other areas of design? How about relaunching the old telephone kiosk, or that Victorian gas light you see in Jack the Ripper films?

Although, this trend hasn’t spread to graphic design, it’s hard to see how it could.

Or maybe as I write someone is redesigning Captain Fogerty’s Almanac.
