Dumas quits Council

The Design Council is to appoint a new director of research following the resignation of Dr Angela Dumas. Dumas is leaving at the end of August to pursue a research and writing career. A two-to three-month recruitment process will take place to fill her post, says a Design Council spokeswoman.

Dumas became the organisation’s first ever research director in 1995 after acting as interim in the post for a year (DW 30 June 1995). Among her notable achievements was a two-year investigation into competitiveness through design effectiveness.
