The TUC’s venture offering cheaper gas and electricity to union members has an identity designed by Millard Stanhope Design.
Union Energy’s marque features a 3D on-off switch on a bright yellow background which is intended to impart vitality and energy.
Millard Stanhope Design in Chelsea won a proposals and credentials pitch against HSAG, First Impression, Spike, Siren and Publishing Business.
Although artwork was not specified, young designers Mark Millard and Anthony Stanhope presented the switch idea. “It was a winner,” says the TUC’s independent marketing consultant Melissa Kojan, “really accessible and memorable. The design team was also the hungriest.”
Union Energy’s identity will be applied to its literature, posters and direct marketing material from early autumn.
