Jaques Russell looks towards big screen

The Moving Picture Company has unveiled its new corporate identity and brochure, created by Jaques Russell. The project marks an increasing focus by the Soho consultancy on film-related work.

Jaques Russell won the work for the postproduction company after a three-way paid pitch. Initially, the brief was to create a new brochure aimed at ad agencies, described by group partner Martin Jaques as “the world’s most cynical audience”. The resulting brochure, called On Off, addresses “how TV infects the environment”, says Jacques.

The identity was added to the project after initial discussions. Based on the shape of a cinema screen, it includes a character developed by Jaques Russell. This character takes on different incarnations depending on which of The Moving Picture Company’s three divisions it is applied to.

Jaques Russell has designed two new brochures for property developer The Manhattan Loft Company, and a limited edition book, marking the launch of the film, Nil by Mouth, actor Gary Oldman’s debut as a director.
