The advantage of good Internet connections

We have a curry house locally, for argument’s sake, named the Taj Mahal, which annually awards itself the Taj Mahal Best Restaurant Award.

I was reminded of this when I read of Hyperinteractive’s success in securing a yellow pencil for Internet design. You rightly pointed out that it was “cheeky” for the award to go to none other than the British Design and Art Direction web site, but surely it is downright incestuous when the creative director of that project, and MD of Hyperinteractive is none other than the chair of the D&AD interactive design judges? Internet design has grown up a lot in the last 12 months, though it seems much of the best work must go unrecognised because the talent doesn’t have the right connections.
