Glasgow 1999 appoints two

Glasgow 1999 has appointed Ron Arad Associates and Caruso St John Architects to design two major exhibitions in the city.

Each consultancy was chosen after a three-way pitch for which they were paid 400 each, conducted by local city council affiliate Glasgow 1999. This body is responsible for organising the cultural events for next year, when Glasgow will be UK City of Architecture and Design.

Ron Arad will create Winning, an exhibition on design and sport.

Caruso St John will create Vertigo, an exhibition looking at how new buildings will shape cities in the next millennium.
