Government identities delayed

Identity projects for newly formed Government departments are being set back by its across-the-board departmental spending review.

Each department is being examined to see if improvements can be made. In some cases, this may lead to significant changes to structure and remit.

CDT Design is looking into the Department for Culture, Media and Sport to establish its core values as part of an identity project (DW 5 December 1997).

“The [spending] review may say the nature of the department needs to change significantly and CDT will have to re-evaluate our core values in the light of this,” says a DCMS spokesman.

The department’s review is due to be completed in late spring.

Tatham Pearce is researching the core values of the recently-created Ministry for Agriculture and Fisheries (DW 12 December 1997). Its review is expected to be completed in around six weeks.

“Tatham Pearce is awaiting the results of the [spending]review before moving on to the next stage,” says a MAF spokesman.
