An industry faced with manifold pressures

Your heading to my letter (DW 22 September) was a little erroneous, which may have given rise to people within the print trade taking exception to what appeared to be a clarion call to man the battlements against hordes of free-pitching printers.

This view was certainly not the intention or spirit of the text. The somewhat oblique point to a tongue-in-cheek tale was to open up the perspective of the extraneous pressures (not just the free-pitch scenario) on the humble designer.
