Simplicity and clarity of design were major factors in choosing the shortlist for the Design Week Graphic Design Award in this year’s British Environment & Media Awards.

Tayburn McIlroy Coates has been shortlisted for Hannay Rubbish Ltd’s Trash or Treasure, Carter Wong for the United Nations’ Passport to the Future and Blue Peach for Scottish National Heritage’s campaign identity The Ring of Life.

The awards are organised by environmental charity Media Natura and the results will be announced on 24 October.
