Members of the design community found themselves incarcerated in the Tower of London last week as multimedia mogul Malcolm Garrett and the Cyberia Café babes whisked them through the Net.

Members of the design community found themselves incarcerated in the Tower of London last week as multimedia mogul Malcolm Garrett and the Cyberia Café babes whisked them through the Net.

Little did they know when they signed up for the DW/Chartered Society of Designers bash that they’d not just be Locked into the Net – the title of the session – but into the tower itself, by order and under the guard of beskirted yeoman warders (beefeaters to you).

There was one notable absence though. The Typographic Circle’s ubiquitous chairman Phil Jones was locked out – not just of the tower, but of his London flat. Jones had returned from his Lincolnshire family seat with no keys, unable to find his supper on the other side of an unyielding door. Rumour has it heads will now roll.
