Superdrug refocus as roster reviewed

Superdrug is reviewing its design consultancy roster following the takeover of its parent company Kruidvat by the ports-to-telecommunications giant Hutchison Whampoa last week. Credential presentations by Pearlfisher, Turner Duckworth, Brandhouse WTS, and Creative Leap are in progress. Superdrug is also considering two other unnamed consultancies. Williams Murray Hamm has refused to re-pitch for the business. […]

Sorrell sounds dippy with his recession analogy

Bollocks. Not what you want to imagine when you’re tucking into your muesli or sipping your breakfast lemon-and-hot-water. But that’s the title of the first piece to be exhibited at Her House – graphic designer Morag Myerscough’s new gallery, located (intimately enough) in her own kitchen. Sunderland Football Club

By Design Week’s standards, it wasn’t too difficult a question. ‘Who designed your crest?’ we asked Sunderland Football Club for our club badge feature (DW 29 August). Dynamic design trade body can ease fear of unknown

Recent developments at the Design Business Association have, as your Comment suggested (DW 15 August), raised again the subject of a broadly representative designers’ trade body. How novel. Sadly, I recall reading letters on the subject in Design magazine in my school library over 20 years ago. It must be the job of the design […]

Job-seekers should try to improve communication

The heartfelt plea for more job opportunities in design from Dan Cox (Letters, DW 22 August) was literate, but hardly persuasive. Sadly, in today’s market there is a surplus of designers – especially young designers and more especially designers who, unlike Dan, cannot communicate effectively. One possible cause of graduate unemployment is the fact colleges […]
