The main candidates for London mayor have all now adopted campaign identities and slogans.

With some using party logos and others commissioning original marques, there is quite a variety among the five, and their sources. Campaign managers and ad agencies have been involved in the design process. But whether any can significantly influence voters with their choice of branding is yet to be determined.

All main candidates have, however, pledged some level of support for London’s creative industries. Design Council chief executive Andrew Summers has welcomed the candidates’ appreciation of London design, claiming: “Good administration can enhance it, but it is not dependent on it.”
