It’s a Kracka for MyTravel stores

Kracka has created a retail concept for travel giant Airtours, which goes live in four UK locations on 27 December.

The news follows the rebrand last week of Airtours to MyTravel Group by CorpBrand. The name and identity will be applied to 51 aircraft and Airtours’ UK high street stores.

The identity seeks to consolidate and encompass all aspects of the Airtours Group’s distribution business, including retail, telephone or electronic media, says CorpBrand chairman Colin Porter.

Airtours will also use other existing businesses, including aviation and cruises with international exposure to promote the MyTravel name, he adds.

The retail concepts by Kracka are designed to bring leisure travel retailing out of the Dark Ages, says Airtours UKLG chief executive officer Richard Carrick.

‘It goes beyond a new name and store facia,’ Carrick adds.

Two out-of-town ‘megastores’ are scheduled to launch in February following the four high street locations after Christmas.

If the store concepts are successful, the concept will be rolled out across the UK, with the intention of eventually replacing Airtours’ 700-strong Going Places, Travel World and Holiday World retail chains.
