Design input for Innovation Review

The role that design will play in the Government’s first Innovation Review is under discussion again this week.

Minister of State for Science and Innovation Ian Pearson has drafted in the Design Council, along with the National Endowment for Science, Technology and Arts, and the Technology Strategy Board to contribute to the review, due out in spring 2008.

A ‘closed meeting’ held yesterday was the second in a series of seminars held in conjunction with the Science minister, the Secretary of State for the Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills John Denham, former Design Council chairman Sir George Cox and incoming Design Council chairman Sir Michael Bichard, plus a range of other speakers. A spokesman says the Design Council has been asked to provide insight into how design can drive innovation and value in public services.
