Perhaps that’s what Sebastian Conran was thinking recently when he decided to buy a house from John McConnell of Pentagram. But hold back those visions of a cosy deal struck over lunch in The Ivy. According to McConnell, the transaction was carried out in the conventional way, through an estate agent, and the two didn’t even meet.
