Bibliotheque on menu for Busaba Eatthai

Restaurateur Alan Yau is to open a third Busaba Eathai, on London’s Bird Street, in April next year, with graphics designed by Bilbliotheque.

The Busaba chain currently comprises two London restaurants Рin Wardour Street and Store Street Рand serves Thai food in contemporary surroundings. Interiors at the third venue are likely to be a roll-out of the existing Christian Liaigr̩ design.

Bilbliotheque director Mason Wells says graphics will be a ‘logical evolution’ of the two previous identities created by North. He is reluctant to comment on details.

‘Everything is work in progress at this stage,’ he says. ‘We are sensitive to the current identity structure [and] there seems to be an image-based bias developing in the work.’

The group was appointed without a pitch, as two of the team had worked at North on the original identity.

Meanwhile, Yau’s latest venture, Chowbar, due to launch in September last year, has had its opening postponed until autumn 2005.
