Bucks college leads awards

For the third year running Buckinghamshire Chilterns University College has topped the table for nominations at the D&AD Student Awards, which are announced at the New Connaught Rooms in London tonight.

This year’s awards attracted a record number of entries, with more than 2000 applicants, representing a rise of 35 per cent on last year. In total 165 entries were selected for the D&AD Book this year, 55 of which have been nominated for prizes.

BCUC’s haul of eight nominations was up two on last year, while Central St Martin’s College of Art and Design came second with seven, also an improvement of two from 12 months ago.

Other colleges and universities to have multiple nominations include Kingston and Middlesex with four each, University of Central England with three nominations and the Arts Institute of Bournemouth, Loughborough, Norwich School of Art & Design, Sheffield Hallam and Salford with two apiece.

An additional 19 institutions have a single nomination each.
