Exxon goes for younger drivers

US petrol giant Exxon, which trades as Esso in the UK, is planning a global roll out of a new petrol station concept aimed at younger consumers, once trials in the US and France have ended.

The new brand – called Exxon Express in the US and Go in Europe and elsewhere – has been developed by Citigate Lloyd Northover and its US sister group Citigate Bass Yager.

The unmanned concept will offer petrol only, without a convenience store.

“It will be a much quicker process aimed at a younger market who are on the move,” explains Citigate Lloyd Northover project director Myles Dacre.

The prototypes will be evaluated over the next six to ten months before the concept is introduced to Europe and the US.

Dacre adds: “Once the results have been reviewed, the design will be rolled out worldwide.”
