Bristol consultancy Bi-design has an original marketing policy.

Creative director Carol Whitworth and senior designer Kevin Clutterbuck garb themselves in fake dalmation and leopardskin and trill their own versions of songs by Tom Jones, Elvis, Abba and the Monkees. One of their clients is a backing vocalist, another is on the drums.

The band is named Doreen Doreen after Duran Duran, from 13 years ago, when creative director Carol Whitworth (who boasts an eight-metre train in fake dalmation fur) formed the band.

Standing on stage and Doreening cheesy songs has attracted many clients to Bi-design.

“People who love our band are often in good positions to give us work,” says Clutterbuck.

Last year Doreen Doreen played to 4000 people at Bristol’s Ashton Court Festival. And this month the duo will play alongside The Village People and Right Said Fred at Copenhagen’s gay and lesbian festival Europride…
