And so it nearly turned out for student Hazel Rattigan, who somehow managed to get all the way to Tokyo as part of a student exchange project… without her passport. Japanese authorities are evidently more understanding than their UK counterparts, as the hapless Hazel managed to obtain a new passport and continue her trip.
