Safeway extends trials

Supermarket group Safeway has confirmed that it will roll out a digital point-of-sale television-based system, developed by Sampson Tyrrell Enterprise, after extended trials.

The system, which can display video footage, messages or animated graphics, has been on trial at the Milton Keynes branch of Safeway since late last year. The system has ISDN links to the group’s head office, allowing messages to be changed at short notice.

A spokeswoman for Safeway confirms the Milton Keynes trials are to be extended.
