Small world for small minds at Namesake

Two strangers apparently in the same photo, taken in Rangoon, Burma, c.1908, claim they have been re-united 96 years later.

In a freak turn of events, the men – one an artist and writer living in London, and the other a full time missionary with Jews for Jesus in New York City – share the name Joshua Sofaer.

The incredible coincidence has had such a profound effect on the pair that they have come together to create Namesake. Part live performance, part soundscape, part documentary-with-buffet, the show takes place over three nights in May, at the Jewish Museum, Home and Swiss Church in London.
