More changes at Edward Briscoe

The managing director of Edward Briscoe Design has left the group in the same week that a new non-executive director and client services director joined.

Phil Jones left last Friday, following what chairman Ted Briscoe describes as a review of his position by newly appointed non-executive director Jurgen Freund, and Briscoe himself.

The chairman and Jones both say the move was amicable. “I felt I needed a new challenge,” says Jones. He has moved to 96 Hundred Design Group, which is in the same building as Edward Briscoe, as commercial director.

Edward Briscoe account manager Lea Banwell has meanwhile been promoted to client services director. Her promotion, and

Freund’s two day per week appointment, mean Jones will not be directly replaced.

Three other recently departed Edward Briscoe staff have formed a new media design group. Former account director Jennie Gerry, technical director John Rafferty and multimedia manager Craig Peel launched Real Design last week.

They deny Briscoe’s assertion that Rafferty and Peel will work on a consultancy basis for their old employer (DW 24 October). “We will only be working for our own clients,” says Gerry.
