Following the reception for the UK’s top designers held at 10 Downing Street, we are now able to announce further details of the Creative Britain workshops the Design Council has been asked to organise by the Prime Minister.

They will take place during September and October with the Design Council reporting the results to the Prime Minister in mid-November. The purpose of the workshops is to generate ideas:

to help the Millennium Experience exploit the UK’s strengths in innovation, creativity and design;

for the promotion of the UK’s strengths in innovation, creativity and design at the international summits in 1998; and

to improve the first impressions given to visitors to the UK.

While the workshops themselves are by invitation only, we would welcome concise written contributions. They should be sent to the Corporate Affairs Team at the Design Council, Haymarket House, 1 Oxendon Street, London SW1Y 4EE by 19 September
