With regard to the Vox Pop on Top Shop’s decision to sell ‘sex and underwear’ (DW 3 July), what’s the big fuss about?
Sex toys lost their cachet a long time ago, but I’m sure it will help Top Shop to continue its transformation to youth culture barometer (many fashion designers are spotted snooping around in-store).
Recent research shows that teenagers are having more sex than ever and, as a result, the growth in sexually transmitted infections is alarming. So let’s hope that Top Shop combines titillation with education. Positioning wise, I’d go for ‘On Top’.
