Brian Tattersfield has retired from Minale Tattersfield, which he founded with Marcello Minale 31 years ago.

Tattersfield, who worked at the group on a consultancy basis for the past three years, retired on 30 November.

“There is sadness as a period of our life is gone, but we have to go forward,” says Minale. Tattersfield will not be replaced.

The consultancy has opened its first design office in the Czech Republic with a 15-strong team based in Prague called Minale Tattersfield: The Design Connection. Vendo Wemsley, a senior designer at the consultancy’s London office, heads a team of seven East European designers as creative director.

For three years the group has had an agent in Prague and has been working for clients such as Nestlé. “We are now competing for 300 retail shops for a telecommunications company,” says Minale. The consultancy plans to open marketing agencies in Budapest and Warsaw which will be serviced from Prague.
