Designed in France

The French labelling system ‘made in France’ should change to ‘designed in France’ to highlight the flow of manufacturing jobs to low-cost economies, according to the French finance minister. Thierry Breton proposed the rethink this week, because it would demonstrate how a product dreamed up in France, but manufactured elsewhere, represented an element of national expertise.
