Disappointed caretaker discovers drugs don’t work

You may or may not remember Loewy sent out pill bottles filled with sweets saying it could ‘take the headache’ out of prospective clients’ annual reports (DW 29 November 2001).

Believe it or not, it did get replies, and one in particular caught the eye. A company, which will remain anonymous to protect the guilty, wrote to say its caretaker had intercepted the package.

‘Normally when faced with a bottle of pills, he consumes the lot in the hope of nirvana, but this time he was disappointed,’ says the unnamed e-mailer.

‘We had hoped he would take a substance that would alter his mind for good,’ he says, somewhat unkindly, before adding he hopes other recipients ‘can have their sense of humour re-inserted’.

Just say yes.
