Glasgow 1999 UK City of Architecture and Design begins its exhibition programme with Winning: the Design of Sports. The event looks at the relationship between sport and design from the design of Formula One racing cars to graphics and advertising. A book of the same title is available through Laurence King and retails at 19.95. The exhibition runs until 5 April.

A selling exhibition of work by ZPM shows from 10 January until 14 February. ZPM designs practical and original bathroom, travel and cosmetic bags which are transformed through the use of optical fibres in wild colours.

Limited editions by British artists are displayed at The Multiple Store: the first collection. The Multiple Store is an arts organisation bringing contemporary art to collectors at affordable prices. The work will be on show until mid January and tour throughout the rest of 1999.

Richard Wentworth’s Thinking Aloud exhibition shows from 9 January until 28 February. Wentworth has assembled a collection of objects and artworks and asks the viewer to look at the artworks in a new context.
