A trio of Chinese students studying at Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design in London has been awarded the D&AD Student of the Year Award 2005, for a Dog Poo Spray innovation.

WeiWei He, Chuan Shi and Wen Ying Lu won in the Product Design & Innovation category at last week’s ceremony, which took place in Old Billingsgate, London. Their Dog Poo Spray uses a can of coloured liquid nitrogen to freeze dog waste on to a stick, allowing it to be easily picked up and disposed of.

D&AD received more than 2500 entries for the awards, which cover design and advertising.

Winners were drawn from the UK, China, Italy, Japan, Malta, South Africa, Sweden and the US.
