Bioform lifts Speedo range

Charnos, manufacturer of the Seymour Powell-designed Bioform bra, is introducing a swimwear version of the product through a manufacturing deal with Speedo. This is the first time the 3D support system, Bioform, has been used in another product.

Charnos has signed a licensing agreement with Speedo to produce the collection, which will be available this month at the latter’s London Covent Garden store.

The range includes a two-piece bikini and a one-piece swimsuit, and a range of Speedo Mixers, which are swimwear separates.

The product development was driven by demand for bust support by women “when they are lying on a beach”, says Charnos managing director Tony Hodges.

The bra remains unchanged except for minor design tweaks undertaken in-house at Charnos and at Speedo, Hodges adds.

Meanwhile, the Bioform bra has been selected by the Design Council to be part of its Great Expectations exhibition at the UKinNY festival in October.

The show will showcase British creativity.
