Do I detect a hint of ageism within design recruitment?

Due to a change in circumstances, I’ve been considering returning to work in London.

I’ve sent my CV to several recruitment agencies, much with the same reply: ‘Unfortunately our clients require experience that differs from yours.’ Surely in my 25 years at quite a high level, I’ve experienced just about everything?

I would be interested to see what response John Hegarty or Alan Fletcher might receive under similar circumstances.
