Ylva Persson, formerly new business manager at design group Curious, has been appointed as global marketing director of Swedish Vodka company Svensk. While at Curious, Persson was responsible for design and marketing strategy for Svensk.

A contract for the redevelopment of King’s Cross Underground Station has been won by consultant engineers Ove Arup and Partners. Ove Arup project head David Kaye says architects Allies and Morrison are the only sub-contractors involved with the station redesign.

Design and architecture group The Pike Practice has created a second outlet for restaurateur Nigel Platts-Martin. Following work on The Square, in London’s Mayfair, the group has designed The Glasshouse in Kew, south west London, which opened last week. The 70-seat restaurant seeks a balance between minimalism and comfort with a fully glazed frontage, polished wood floors and high ceilings. Artist and curator Oliver Bevan was appointed to select and commission paintings for the restaurant.

Catalogue specialist group AGA London has been appointed to design the next two sales brochures for London department store Harrods.
