Pearce linked to Boots design job

Boots the Chemists is close to making a senior creative appointment following John McConnell’s departure from his consultative role last month (DW 18 July). Industry sources have strongly linked Lippa Pearce founder Harry Pearce with the company this week.

Boots is known to be searching for an internal design head, but it is not clear if Pearce is being tipped for that role on a full-time basis or whether he is likely to assume a position more akin to external brand guardianship.

A Boots spokeswoman was not prepared to comment on any appointment, but confirmed the company was recruiting for an internal creative director role.

Pearce is on holiday this week. Lippa Pearce partner Domenic Lippa and managing director Giles Calver were unavailable for comment as DW went to press.
