Liberation for Greenwich logo

Greenwich design group Liberation has developed a logo for Greenwich Council’s millennium office, to help promote a varied range of cultural activities, including arts and entertainment, for the millennium.

The identity will be on all leaflets and promotional material and will be unveiled on Saturday at the London borough’s anti-racism festival. No decision has yet been made as to whether it will be used at the Millennium Dome.

Liberation creative director Liz Gibbons says: “The millennium is like the new dawn, so the blue and orange colours in the logo reflect the transition from night to day, signifying hope and a fresh start.

“We wanted it to be lively, fun and a positive celebration of a unique happening. Therefore, we used elements suggesting the shape of the Millennium Dome, a compass and a globe to represent Greenwich itself.”
