The Nest and Jeff Fisher create antidote for ‘stuffy’ Sofa Workshop
The Nest has redesigned the visual look and feel of the Sofa Workshop’s branding, due to be installed in the retailer’s Wilmslow outlet this month, ahead of a national roll-out.
The creative work centres on drawings by illustrator Jeff Fisher, which are intended to offer the furniture company a more ‘friendly and accessible’ image.
Research found that the Sofa Workshop brand is perceived as ‘stuffy’, says The Nest art director James Skinner. To remedy this, the consultancy presented a range of executions, featuring both photography and illustration.
‘Fisher’s illustrations were chosen because they give character and fun to the brand,’ he says.
The Nest developed a colour palette and introduced Baskerville and Frutiger typefaces to visual applications, which cover point-of-sale materials and a brochure.
The identity will be used as well as Sofa Workshop’s existing logo.
