Fitch draws on Gaudi in Spain

One of Spain’s largest office and retail centres, Barcelona Glories, has now been completed with an identity and signs by Fitch.

The centre, housing some 200 retail outlets, consists of 55 000m2 of retail space, two 38 000m2 office complexes and 10 000m2 of pedestrian squares. It has been developed as part of Barcelona’s post-Olympic investment in construction and urbanisation.

Fitch was briefed to design a “strong identity and communications system which would be inviting as well as capable of facilitating the estimated flow of 18 million visitors who are expected to shop at the centre each year” , says a consultancy spokeswoman.

The group created a logo with a Catalan emphasis, incorporating an adapted image taken from the work of the Spanish architect Gaudi. The identity has been applied throughout the centre.
