Birmingham City Council has launched its City Pride initiative, with documentation designed by Hurlston Design Group.

Birmingham’s launch follows that of Manchester in September, and of London in January, with launch documents designed by The Creative Lynx Partnership and Wordsearch respectively.

The City Pride initiative was launched by the Department of Environment in 1993 as a pilot scheme, inviting the people of Birmingham, Manchester and London to come together and draw up a vision of how they want their city to develop over the next ten years.

Sheffield and Leeds have also expressed an interest in the scheme, according to a spokeswoman for the DoE.

A spokeswoman for the Birmingham City Pride initiative comments: “It is a ten-year initiative and there will be design needs such as annual reports and work on individual projects which have to be met.”
