Black shirts dictate DW Awards dress code

Male designers are a unique species, unlike the clothes they wear. Black suits, black shirts, the ubiquitous Clark Kent glasses and a conspicuous lack of ties could be seen gracing every winner at last week’s Design Week Awards.

They may be testing the theory of inverse proportion, which dictates that the duller the attire, the more creative the work. But these things can be taken too far. Why not channel that creativity into something more sartorially sexy?
