CSD in support of review on representation

The Chartered Society of Designers is “committed” to taking part in the strategic review of design industry representation announced last week (DW 2 May), according to CSD president Nick Jenkins.

The society will be allocating its 5000 share of funding for the first stage of the venture, though it may pay in three tranches rather than one lump sum. “The details simply aren’t sorted out yet,” says Jenkins.

“I am personally 100 per cent behind it,” says Jenkins of the review, which was initiated by Design Business Association chairman Jonathan Sands.

The Design Council has granted 25 000 towards the 35 000 first phase, which is being handled by change management consultant Kinsley Lord and due to be completed this summer. The DBA is contributing 5000.
