Hodgkinson & Co has this week started interiors work for upmarket ladies retailer Ricci Burns, which is moving from Bond Street to near Sloane Street in London later this month.

The consultancy was appointed without a pitch on referral based on the strength of earlier interiors work with clients including London retailer Stephane Kelian and a Holmes Place health club in Epsom, says Hodgkinson managing director Andrew Hodgkinson.

He refuses to disclose the fee but says it is a ‘substantial’ piece of work for the consultancy.

The look for the exclusive, two-floor store is ‘glam’, says Hodgkinson. Both floors will have a soft, feminine and relaxed feel that is designed to ‘act as a backdrop to the clothes’, he adds.

The ground floor has a curved silver wall with merchandise display units, and both feature a mixture of mirrored furniture and ornate Venetian mirrors contrasting with ‘contemporary lines of the interior’.

As well as interiors, Hodgkinson is creating a shopfront and install-ing a steel and maple staircase.

Ricci Burns is an independent retailer with no further shops to date. The store will be located on Lowndes Street, just off Sloane Street in Chelsea.
