Pauffley assembles collaborator network

Pauffley’s parent, IDH Group, is in the throes of putting together a network of corporate marketing “partners” to handle all aspects of corporate communications. The news follows last month’s announcement by Pauffley’s rival, annual reports specialist Addison, that it is broadening its corporate communications offer (DW 25 September).

IDH has already forged bonds with media buyer Ptarmigan Media and successfully pitched for work with a US broking house. It is also “working closely” with PR consultancy Chancery Communications and has “a loose association” with video specialist The Edge. Discussions with other agencies are also underway.

According to IDH Group managing director Nick Glanvill, annual reports (Pauffley’s specialism) are “the classic front door” for establishing a relationship with a client. “It is a natural process to get involved with other things,” he says.

For example, the group is working on the identity for an unnamed FTSE Top 100 company, due to go live in March.

Glanvill says the collaborations are fairly informal, and can involve joint pitches or merely introductions. “You don’t need commercial structures to make these work,” he says. “They work because of the natural fit of cultures.”
