D&AD is launching a free online course on storytelling, featuring insights from film director Sir Alan Parker, creative director Gary Hoff and others.

The course – titled Brand Storytelling: How to Use Narrative to Sell – will run over four weeks and is hosted in association with Creative Skillset.

It will feature insights from Parker and Hoff as well as TBWA London chairman and chief creative officer Peter Souter and Sunshine chief creative officer Al MacCuish.

The course will comprise three hours teaching time each week and a live brief will run alongside the course.

D&AD says the course will cover elements including how to create a narrative, how to communicate a brand through storytelling, how to engage audiences and how to amplify a message through digital media.

The course is being run by the D&AD Foundation, which aims to “inspire the next generation of creative talent” through projects such as the New Blood Awards scheme, aimed at students and graduates.

The Brand Storytelling course launches on 16 November. For more information and to join the course visit www.futurelearn.com/courses/brand-storytelling.
