Lighthouse acquires first dedicated interiors group

Fitch parent Lighthouse Global Network has added its first dedicated interiors group to its Design and Development arm, with the acquisition of Arizona-based Associates in Architecture and Design.

The purchase brings to four the number of design consultancies within the group, since its launch in September 1998.

AAD employs 60 staff and specialises in architecture and interior design in the North American retail and food service industries. It has collaborated with Fitch’s US office on previous projects, implementing store designs for Burger King and Universal Studios

“AAD and Fitch have always been able to complement each other and share expertise. As members of the same network we will… now be able to present a seamless, high quality service offering to clients that allows us to deliver the execution of a large-scale retail or food service environment from concept to consumer experience,” says AAD executive vice president Mike Steveson.

LGN president and chief executive Martin Beck adds that the partnership will provide strengthening of the network’s potential to develop “entertainment-oriented retail environments”.

AAD clients also include Planet Hollywood, Universal Studios and Warner Brothers Studio Stores.

An LGN spokeswoman declines to comment on future acquisitions.
