Paul Cartwright scrubs up The Refinery brand

Premium men’s grooming salon The Refinery is launching a refreshed design for all its print material, created by Paul Cartwright Branding. The designs build on the product range that was developed by Michael Nash Associates in 2002.

‘The Refinery’s previous print material didn’t follow through the work we’d done with Nash,’ says The Refinery marketing consultant Belinda Roberts. ‘We had to produce decent material to get the brand across.’

The work includes a mail order brochure (pictured right), as well as a treatment brochure, gift tags and other print graphics.

The Refinery runs three London salons, in the City, the West End and a concession in Harrods. It plans to extend its product distribution to retailers in the UK and throughout the world, according to Roberts. It will continue to work with Paul Cartwright on all print designs.

The consultancy was appointed following a pitch in August, which included Michael Nash Associates. It was formed earlier this year by Paul Cartwright, former design manager for packaging and branding at Debenhams.

Cartwright is also working on brand and packaging design for department store Allders, which operates more than 40 shops across the UK.
