Chinese office for Jack Morton

Jack Morton Worldwide will next week open an office in Beijing, its first presence in mainland China.

According to Lois Jacobs, president international for Jack Morton Worldwide, the move is a response to rapidly growing opportunities in the country. ‘About 50 per cent of what we do from our [existing] Hong Kong office is in mainland China, and we hope to go to Shanghai soon after,’ she says.

Jacobs is also seeking to set up a formal partnership in India, another market which she describes as particularly ‘buoyant’ at present.

The Beijing office will be located in the premises of Weber Shandwick, a public relations company that is owned by Jack Morton parent Interpublic Group. It will be led by managing director Rebecca Lin, who will report to managing director for Asia, Ben Taylor.
