Once a month the consultancy goes out on a “jolly”, organised by alternating volunteers. The resulting criminality, camaraderie and chaos is celebrated in a news letter called The Gravy Train.

“Now you may be wondering why we’ve called this newsletter The Gravy Train,” says the introduction, itself headlined “jump aboard!”. “Well, it’s simple – the one thing we all have in common is our ability to `screw the boss’ (esp Kate).” Kate who?

The jollies have so far included shooting Magnum 44s, playing pub golf, an ice hockey match where only three players could stand up, a trip to London’s oldest brothels, a night at the dogs, and, most bizarre, afternoon tea at the Savoy.

“Thoroughly biased and highly inaccurate” is how the newsletter is described. By its producers Dee Sleator and David Gilligan, that is. Scandalous good fun. That Roger Felton bloke must have a cracking sense of humour to take this much stick.
